The Decorative Arts Center was founded in St. Louis, Missouri in the year 2000, by Brian Bullard, a Master Decorative Artist with European Certification. The private school provides training seminars in faux finishes, Trompe l'oeil - murals, venetian plaster, textures, and small business development. The DAC has trained and consulted thousands of students and small businesses in the decorative arts field. The school moved to its current location, in Houston, Texas, in the summer of 2010.
 
Job Description-Decorative Arts Instructor
 
Seeking a "Decorative Arts Instructor" for the upcoming summer and fall season. The position is a new position and will have instruction and organizational responsibilities for an expanding venture within the studio. The position reports to the studio director.

Job Responsibilities
As Decorative Arts Instructor, the ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Fully understand the concept of the new venture and its objective.
Teach, motivate, and inspire students in a classroom environment.
Manage and maintain the studio, art materials, and tools.
Develop technical aspects including the design of curriculum and samples.
Assist in marketing aspects of the new venture to include the use of social media.
 
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of five (5) active years in the field of decorative artistry, to include onsite projects. An in-depth knowledge in a variety of painting and plaster techniques is desirable.

*discretion, especially in the aspect of customers and trade secrets
*"good standing" in the "faux community"

Former teaching experience is not required. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
