Day 3,
Faux Finishing Business & Design
"
A custom faux finish
sample for a
client or
designer is the deciding
factor
in winning
a
faux business project"
The
business
"Simulation" gets you
primed for what you will be doing frequently in the faux finishing
business:
gathering information, creating a custom made design and faux painting
sample for a client, pricing the job with a contract, and selling your
faux finishing work as a business.
The day
starts with basic faux
finishing business design information as well as simple but
effective
tips for choosing colors, values, and a faux finish as a business.
All business students are then given a scenario which is a mock
business
faux project. Elements such as cloth samples are presented, the student
is also given the information for the type of room and faux finishing
desires
of the client.
Each
student
has two hours to go
through resource material, painting a faux finish sample for the
project.
Following completion, the instructor gives an evaluation of each
painting
and faux finish and the entire class learns to price their faux
finishing
services as a business for the final painting contract.
"It's
not always the matter of a faux finish, but where to put it. Lack of
good
"faux finishing design" is the most common error we see in the faux
business,
that, and underpricing. I'll teach you foolproof methods that work the
right way in the faux finishing business every time!".
